Who Is Fox Consulting?

George M. Stephens owns and operates Fox Consulting.  George has over 20 years of experience in the computer and electronics fields.  Beginning in the early 1980's George already had several years of experience on the then state of the art personal computers including the Radio Shack Model 1 and Color Computers, Apple II and Commodore models.  He saw the introduction of the IBM Personal Computer in 1981 and has been deeply involved in their operation and repair ever since.

In 1986, after graduating from Penn Technical Institute, George moved into the electronics and computing fields on a professional basis.  He worked for seven years for Ricoh Corporation as a field technician.  There he developed vital troubleshooting techniques and the ability to work with his customers on a non-technical level.  At Ricoh he was responsible for their 20 computer office LAN and Novell file server.  Through a  progression of jobs since he has gained the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot, update and enhance personal computers, network them and work with users in the home and office environments.

In 1997 he founded Fox Consulting in Delaware.  Since then he has provided computer services to a wide variety of clients in business and in the home.  His ability to relate to people's personal computing needs has allowed him to provide truly individualized and reliable service to many satisfied clients.

He trained for and received his Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification in 1999, the highest certification Microsoft offers.  This greatly enhanced his abilities to service, train and inform his clients; especially those with computers in business environments.  George continues to stay on top of the constantly changing computer landscape.  He is constantly evaluating and using new computing technologies, keeping abreast of current trends in the personal computing field.  Recent areas of special interest have been computer security (such as firewalls) and anti-virus protection.  These areas are of greatest concern when a computer is connected to the Internet, especially with a high speed DSL/cable modem connection.  It is far too easy for an unsuspecting individual at home or in an office to have their systems penetrated by a hacker or receive a virus that could destroy all the files on their computer.

George's skills cover troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software, especially problems related to the Microsoft Windows operating system.  He does all aspects of computer networking including cabling, network hubs and switches, installing networking cards in computers and configuring the computers to access the network and internet.  George is also skilled with computer peripherals such at printers, scanners and modems.  He has done training on computer related topics for individuals and small groups.  Favorite topics include using the Internet, connecting to the Internet via a high speed link such as DSL/cable modem, getting to know you computer hardware and using Microsoft Windows.

He can put this wealth of knowledge and experience to work for you at your home or business. Whether one PC or fifty, he can assist you or your company with any aspect of PC computing, networking, the Internet and much more. George has vast knowledge of many of the facets of PC computing. He is ready to apply his know-how to analyze, suggest, service and administer your computers or computing facility.

On a more personal note, George moved to Delaware in 1994 where he married his wife in 1995.  Since then he has been living in the Newark, Delaware area.  He has two wonderful children, Matthew and Maggie. He also has two Pembroke Welsh Corgis and a Lab/Goden mix.
