Fox Consulting provides a wide variety of computer support services at your home or office.  We come to you!

Estimates:

We will happily give you a written estimate, good for 30 days, for any service we provide.  Estimates will include time expected for service and materials charges (if any).  If during the course of service events occur that will markedly change the estimate you, the client, will be informed of the change immediately and your input requested. We always want our clients to be fully aware of how the service is progressing and will always let you know if the unexpected should arise.

PC upgrades/repairs:

• All types of PC hardware repair/replacement
• Upgrades to any PC component (memory, hard drive, monitor, CD-ROM, DVD, etc) - The Works!
• Installation and configuration of any PC components for you
• Assistance with wiring, component placement, and ergonomics
• Cleaning/dust removal, fan, cooling and airflow checkout

Networking:

• Connecting two or more computers together
• Physical wiring and network components like hubs, switches and router/firewalls
• Configure computers to use and share high speed Internet services (IE: Cable modem or DSL)
• Optimize and configure computers to use network resources
• Add/maintain networked resources such as printers

Operating Systems and software:

• Install/upgrade/configure Windows operating systems (98, NT, 2000, XP)
• Install/upgrade/configure software packages (IE: web browsers, email, MS Office, etc...)
• Troubleshoot Windows and other software problems/crashes.  Apply patches/fixes if available
• Install/update software needed for PC hardware (called Drivers) for items like the video, sound and networking.
• Install/update security software (IE: Anti-virus and others)

Peripherals:

• Install and maintaining items connected to PC's such as printers, modems, scanners, digital cameras, Palm Pilots and other PDA's and more.

Tutoring/Advice:

• Training one-on-one or small groups, structured or informal sessions
• Topics include: computer familiarization, computer hardware in depth, using Microsoft Windows and products, using the Internet, being a proficient computer user
• Advice on shopping for a computer and accessories.  How to get the most bang for your buck.  Avoiding pitfalls.

Custom computer systems:

We can create computer systems tailored to your specifications.  Whether you need to add new PC's or are replacing  existing units we can help.  We will work with you to specify, design, order, install, configure and support systems that will meet or exceed your requirements.

Everything Else:

It is difficult to categorize every aspect of the personal computer.
